Fuzz Audio is proud to present the Cheez Wuzz CHZ-1, a fuzz pedal that blends the soul of vintage tones with modern precision. Inspired by the legendary Maestro Fuzz Tone FZ-1, this pedal is a true homage to the past—built with the rarest NOS components, hand-tested for optimal performance, and designed to last for years of rich, fuzzed-out tones.
Preorders for the CHZ-1 are now open and we’re starting with an ultra-limited batch of 10 units! Each pedal is hand-built using NOS RCA 2N270 transistors, components so rare it took us over 5 years to gather them. After this initial run, we’ll release 20 additional CHZ-1A units, featuring NOS RCA 2N2614 transistors. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!
The CHZ-1 isn’t just a tribute to the original FZ-1—it’s a serious upgrade with modern reliability and flexibility:
⚡️ Runs on 9V power for stage use or batteries for that classic sag
⚡️ True bypass ensures your tone remains pure
⚡️ Hand-tested and perfectly biased with original RCA 2N270 transistors
⚡️ Low-noise PCB design for cleaner, more refined sound
⚡️ Top-quality components for long life and consistent performance
Each unit is meticulously hand-printed using three separate screens to create an extra cheesy effect. Whether you're laying down tracks in the studio or tearing it up on stage, make a statement by stomping on some aged Germanium cheddar.
The CHZ-1’s journey began years ago when a vintage Maestro Fuzz Tone FZ-1A pedal was found stripped of its internals. That discovery sparked a mission to recreate the iconic tones of the original, but with enhanced reliability and performance. After years of searching for rare parts and refining the design, Fuzz Audio is finally ready to share this modern marvel with the world.
🚀 Preorders go live on Friday, September 13th—don’t miss your chance to own a piece of fuzz history! Follow us for updates and sign up at fuzzaudio.com to stay in the loop. If you’re an FZ-1 fan, or thinking about buying an original, this is your chance to own an improved version.
