Fender Concert 1960-61 6G12-A Brownface

Near Minty W/Original Tubes, Oxford Speakers and Hard Shell Gig Case!

Up for sale, a 1960-61 Fender Concert in exceptional original condition and in perfect working order. This Concert is time capsule clean cosmetically, incredible sounding, and complete with a quad of Oxford 10" 10K5R-1 alnico speakers with long brown metal "Fender" bell covers. The combination of the Brownface 6G12-A circuit and four very rare alnico Oxfords is truly something to behold. The amp delivers sweet, dynamic clean tones with incredible sparkle and a certain high fidelity clarity that is noticeable as soon as you strum your first chord. Turn the amp up past 5 and the amp starts to smoothly overdrive with just the right amount of bite and the complex midrange bark that makes Fender's Brownface amps the perfect middle ground between the growl and attitude of Fender's Tweed amps and the glassy shimmer of the Blackface era. The EQ controls have an incredible wide sweep, and this amp is uncommonly warm for any Fender, never feeling too bright or brittle, with the perfect amount of midrange and focused low end. The second channel boasts the Harmonic Vibrato circuit, which was the only Fender "Tremolo" circuit to ever have a true pitch shifting effect, with deep pulsating warbles and a wide range of speeds.

The only thing that is unoriginal about the amp is the top back panel. Yet, it has been indeed replaced with a genuine fender Brownface back from a very similar style amp.

Front grill cloth has a few scratches, dings, minor discolorations but overall beautiful. Tolex is in remarkable shape. Very minor scratches on face plate. Amp is clean. Overall amp is in excellent condition.

All tubes are original and working. Amp has seen very little use.

Circuit is unmodified and so is cable. If planning on putting a lot of play time on it, best to have it serviced.

The Oxford 10K5R-1 speakers are a matched quad, and the elongated brown metal bell covers (only used on the first alnico magnet versions of the 10K5) are an extremely rare and cool accent used for only a matter of months by Fender.

The original rough brown tolex and oxblood grillcloth are intact and in remarkable shape. As the photos show, the tolex and grill show little wear, and this amp is a great candidate for any collection or studio. The speaker frames and bell covers are exceedingly clean, consistent with the chassis itself and the Brownface faceplate.
This is an extremely rare Fender Brownface Concert in stunning, original condition.

At Fuzz Audio, all vintage/NOS vacuum tubes purchased through our website are guaranteed for one year from purchase date. We accept returns for tubes going noisy, losing output/performance prematurely, and of course losing function all together.  (Read about power tubes below).

We will not cover damage from red plating neglect, glass breakage of any kind, loose bases, or other obvious faults that are due to neglect, rough handling or egregious constant use.

This policy is meant to protect the buyer from having a tube go out on them prematurely from a flaw we missed. Tubes, especially preamp tubes, should last half a lifetime, and well beyond a year, so we want to guarantee each customer that you get a tube that will last.

For power tubes, although we will honor any faults mentioned above, we will not accept a return for a power tube that has obviously been used for 6+ hours a day for every day of the year for one year. Power tubes that have clearly been used beyond their normal wear point will not be accepted.

If you suspect one of your vintage Fuzz Audio tubes has gone bad within one year of purchasing, simply reach out via our chat or at Support@fuzzaudio.com and we will assist you in the warranty exchange process. No receipt is needed.

Please note, it is possible we will be out of stock of the tube that is in need of a swap. If this is the case, we will either offer a refund, credit, different tube, or send the first available tube of that type when it comes back in stock.
